Community Connections is the housing division of Pathfinder Services, Inc., a not for profit Human Services Organization based in Huntington Indiana since 1966. After thirty years of serving individuals with disabilities Pathfinder Services Inc. observed that for many families housing costs consume more than 50% of total family income. Upon further investigation it was learned that there were no organizations in the Corporation’s service region that provided assistance to potential homebuyers as a part of their mission. Community Connections was created in 1997 to fulfill this need.

♦Pathfinder Services Inc. of Huntington recently presented individual and organizational honors to members of the community. The Herbert D. LaMont award was presented to Jim Scheiber for devoting many years to Pathfinder, including nine years on the Pathfinder Foundation board of directors, his current service on the organization's investment committee, and work with Kids Kampus, which includes donating fruits, vegetables and flowers for the Kids Kampus “KinderGarden,” which gives children the responsibility of maintaining a garden. The Timothy Hancher Direct Services Award was presented to Kari Goetz, community integration assistant for Pathfinder. A Community Partner Award was presented to Imagine Real Estate of Fort Wayne and Steve McMichael. The award was presented by Community Connections, the housing division of Pathfinder, for the past two years of partnership with the division while it moved into Fort Wayne, for teaching homeownership classes and attending foreclosure prevention classes with staff.
